Hi Friends & Family,

I get so excited to check the mail every evening when I come home from work because I am anxious to see if we received another RSVP! This is such an exciting time, and all of our hard work is finally starting to come together.

Someone hit the pause button...

...because time is flying by way too quickly! I can't believe we have less than 60 days until the wedding! There's still a lot to do, but I'm so glad we have been extremely organized throughout this process and have all the major things done. Planning our wedding has certainly had its ups and downs, but overall it has been a wonderful experience that David and I shared together. He's been so helpful and has kept me sane throughout everything! He has had great ideas along the way, and I am thrilled that our wedding has been a collaboration instead of just what I want (I hope that's how he feels too).

We're getting all of the final details rolled out and have started receiving our RSVPs. It feels so real now! I cannot wait until the big day. We're going to have a blast with our family and friends. Good friends/family, good music, good food, good wine - I couldn't dream of anything more perfect! Most importantly, I can't wait to marry the love of my life. I'm the luckiest girl in the world!

Adri, her parents and I visited Vanessa and Steve up in Visalia this weekend, and it was awesome! Honestly, that place is not as bad as one might assume... and it's amazing how much house you can get up there for the money.

However, the primary goal was not to look at houses... it was to work on invitations.

It's crazy to think that it's almost here.

Many of the hotels were not accepting block accommodations because of the holiday weekend. We have listed other hotels in the area and honestly, the price difference is not vast.

Engagement has gone REALLY FAST and we are gearing up for our big day... but first, Adrianna's sister Vanessa is getting married!

I just finished working on their wedding webcast page so that family in Argentina can watch the wedding. The preparations for Vanessa and Steve's wedding has gotten me excited for our wedding as well.

Thanks For the Cards!

Over the past few months we have received some wonderful cards and thoughtful gifts from friends and family. We wanted to thank you all for the warm wishes, and the great advice. While I wish I could scan and post all of the cards that everyone has sent, unfortunately I cant. I did however want to post just this one from Professor Mildred Lewis who was one of my instructors in my undergraduate, and graduate classes. Apart from being a great professor, she is a wonderful lady!

It's a beautiful hand made card and and a set of funny fridge magnets!

THE Wedding Cake We MUST Have

A few months ago, David and I posted some pretty awesome wedding cake ideas. Let's be honest...none of them are really right for us. I was kind of leaning towards the cake that is a replica of the bride, but that will remain our little secret!

Anyway, I think I have found the perfect cake for us! It's grand, detailed, and sure to make your jaw drop. What do you think?

New Look!

I just want to say thanks to David for our blog's new look! He has incorporated our wedding color scheme to help make our blog look fabulous! I sure have one great fiance. I should also thank David for the up-keep of our blog. He's really good about it, and I am not at all! This is actually my first post. It's Our "-1 Year" Anniversary!

Adrianna and I would like to announce a few things today since our wedding is officially one year away! We can't believe how fast time has flown by since our engagement. Friends of ours have told us this next year will move very quickly as well. In any case, we want to share the following updates:

...after the proposal

After the proposal, we drove over to dinner. We checked in with the hostess and told her we had dinner reservations. She took us toward the back of the Bunoa Tavola toward a crowded table. Everyone seated there had their faces burred in their menus. Adrianna was thinking "why are they seating us at a table full of other people?"

Just at that moment, the people at the table dropped their menus and revealed themselves. It was Adrianna and David's family. Here are some pictures that were taken shortly after the surprise.

David's Dinner With the Father of the Bride

It could have started with the bleached white paper I ate - to be honest I'm not sure. It wasn't until I was at the end of my sandwich before I noticed a bit of paper stuck to the cheese. I was in a hurry to get back to work that day and apparently forgot to peal the paper that keeps the pieces of cheese from sticking to one another.

Whatever the case, my stomach was rolling around like I ate a "ball and weasel" toy. Then again, it could just be nerves (this is what my Mother later thought). After all, I was having dinner with Adrianna's father, asking him for his daughter's hand in marriage.

Things were going well, we had opened a bottle of "Bridlewood" (which in retrospect indicates to me that he knew exactly what the conversation would be about) and were laughing, and enjoying one another's company. In fact, at this point, the hard part was over. I had already asked for his blessing and he had already given it. None the less, my stomach is swimming.

Suddenly, I realized I needed to get up and rush to the restroom, making it just in time. I remember thinking "so that's how fast croutons digest as compared to carrot shavings." Then I stood up, washed my face off and braced myself on the bathroom sink. If the red faced, baggy eyed man staring back at me in the mirror was frightening to me, what must Jorge be thinking?

I carefully walked back to the table and politely turned down another glass of wine. Our conversation continued taking it's usual tone; friendly and enjoyable. What would I be nervous about? We get along wonderfully. It must have been the paper. Or maybe was the salad...?

After dinner, we hugged and I crawled back into my car. Now the long drive from San Diego to Los Angeles. My stomach began to spin again, but I was already late to meet Adrianna and had quite a ways to go. Unfortunately there was no time to stop - I would just have to rely on my ability to control my churning stomach with my mind. A mutant power I realize now that I do not actually have.

About half way through camp Pendleton a really bad feeling hit me almost as fast as I hit the brakes. I pulled off to the right shoulder and jumped out of the car, hoping to make it to the passenger's side of the car. At least this would protect me from traffic, and traffic from what was about to happen. I only made it to the spoiler and there it was again... croutons and carrot shavings... amongst other things. I checked for damage and the report was: 1) Pants, soiled. 2) Shoes, soiled 3) Shirt, washable.

I found a t-shirt in my trunk and washed off my pants and shoes to no avail. The smell was going to make me do it again. I'd better take my pants and shoes off and leave them in the trunk. I waited for a moment when no cars were coming and stripped as fast as I could. Quickly and carefully I accelerated back to a comfortable speed and was thankful that after the episode, I did feel better.

James, my brother was home working on lines for an audition and he hears the door open. "Hello?" he said as a question because he thought I was supposed to go all the way up to LA without stopping off in Orange County so what would I be doing home? Did things not go according to plan? He looks toward the front door and sees me. My eyes are red, my face is flushed, my eyes are baggy. My shirt is stained and unbuttoned and I'm holding my pants and shoes in my arms leaving me in just my underwear from the waist down.

At that point I have no idea what was running through his mind. I suppose it looked like Jorge said "No, you can't marry my daughter," and then took my pants and shoes. He simply said "Are you OK?"

At that moment a feeling came over me that was warm and for the first time all night it wasn't puke. It was a calming feeling. I felt secure and happy and a smile grew on my face and I said "Yes, I'm going to marry Adrianna."

Hello everyone! Adrianna and I are both very excited about our engagement. Every so often, someone asks us about the details... soon there will be a video and pictures posted on this blog, and probably on facebook as well. In the meantime, there is a presentation below that I used to communicate with the 'camera crew' which was made up of Kevin Hansen & Erin Smith, Wes Freitas, James May, and Kyle Horst).

It will give you a pretty good idea of how it all 'went down' for those of you who are curious.
